Pierre, SD — Speaker Jon Hansen, candidate for South Dakota Governor, is gaining major momentum. A new South Dakota News Watch poll shows Hansen polling at 10%, a sharp rise from just 2% when he entered the race only a few months ago—and a fivefold increase in support that underscores the campaign’s growing grassroots energy.
With more than 150 campaign stops completed, Hansen is outworking every other candidate in the race. In the last three months, the campaign has generated over 3.4 million online impressions and delivered thousands of mail pieces to communities across South Dakota.
Speaker Hansen shared his thoughts on the campaign’s growing momentum:
“South Dakotans are waking up to what’s really at stake. Families are getting hammered by high property taxes, rising costs, and policies that ignore small towns and working people. When I visit communities across our state, people are talking about how to keep their family farms and ranches, improve education, and make ends meet. This campaign is about standing up for them—for faith, family, and freedom—and building a stronger South Dakota for the next generation.”
As the campaign continues to expand its grassroots operation, Hansen remains committed to visiting every corner of the state and meeting people where they are. His message of Faith, Family, and Freedom is resonating deeply — and voters are making it clear they’re ready to support a leader who will fight for them, not the status quo.
